Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 September 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and TaskJar ("TaskJar", "we", "us"), an Australian business, and govern your use of the TaskJar apps, websites, and request and sign-off pages (the "Service"). If you use the Service for a business, you agree to these terms on its behalf and confirm you are authorised to. By creating an account, starting a trial or using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
The service
TaskJar is a task management platform for property, maintenance and trades teams. It includes AI-assisted task creation from voice notes, photos and video; scheduling, bookings and recurring jobs; time tracking; maps and floor plans; quotes, invoices, receipt scanning and expense exports; meeting recordings; reports; customer sign-off; and request intake from tenants, clients and contractors through QR codes and links. Features will change as the product develops.
Accounts and organisations
- You must give accurate account information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Organisation owners control who is in their organisation and what members can see. Content you add to an organisation belongs to that organisation's records and stays with it if you leave.
- You must be at least 16 to use the Service.
Free trials
- We offer a free trial of 14 days, with every feature, to teams we set up. You don't need to give payment details to start one.
- A trial does not turn into a paid subscription automatically. At the end of it you can choose a plan; if you don't, your organisation is paused and its data is kept for 90 days in case you come back, then deleted.
- We decide who we offer trials to, and may extend a trial or end it early if it is being misused.
Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are a flat monthly subscription per team, at the price shown on our website when you sign up. Prices are in Australian dollars and, if we are registered for GST, include GST.
- Subscriptions renew each month until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe.
- You can cancel at any time by emailing help@taskjar.xyz. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have paid for, and you keep access until then.
- Fees already paid are not refundable for change of mind. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- We will give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change. It applies from your next billing period after the notice ends, and you can cancel before then if you don't want to continue at the new price.
Referrals
On plans that include it, you get one free month for each new team you refer that goes on to pay for its first month. Free months are applied to your next bills, have no cash value, and can't be transferred. We may change or end the referral offer with notice, but free months you have already earned will still be honoured.
Your content
- You own the content you and your team create in TaskJar: tasks, media, recordings, documents and submissions.
- You give us the permission we need to run the Service: to store, process, transmit and display your content to you and your organisation, including sending it to our service providers (such as our AI provider) to produce transcripts, tasks and other features. We don't use your content for anything else.
- You are responsible for having the rights and consents needed for the content you
upload, and for complying with the laws that apply to how you use the Service. That
includes:
- getting consent before recording conversations or meetings, as required by the surveillance and listening device laws of your State or Territory;
- telling your workers how their time, location and work records are collected and used, and giving any notice workplace surveillance laws require;
- handling the personal information of tenants, clients and contractors that reaches you through the Service in line with privacy law.
- You can ask us for an export of your organisation's content at any time while your account is active or within 90 days after it ends.
AI-generated and estimated content
Several features produce content automatically: task plans, materials and costs, time estimates, transcripts and meeting summaries, quote drafts, receipt line items and tax amounts, expense exports, and the travel time in an "On my way" message (a rough estimate from distance, not live traffic). Automatic content can be wrong. It is a starting point, not professional, financial or tax advice. Check it before you rely on it, and especially before you send a quote, invoice or message to a client, lodge anything with your accountant or the ATO, or carry out work based on it.
Requests, links and sign-off
- Request links, QR posters and trusted-contact links let people outside your team send you work. You choose who gets them. Trusted-contact links keep working until you revoke them, so revoke any you no longer want used.
- Sign-off links record a client's acknowledgement and a drawn signature against a job. We don't verify who signed, and a sign-off records what was acknowledged; whether it is enough for a particular contract or legal purpose is up to you.
Third-party products and links
Product search results come from third-party retailers. Prices and availability are a guide only and may have changed, and links may include an affiliate tag. Purchases are between you and the retailer.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, send spam through request pages or invites, upload malicious code, probe or disrupt our systems, or try to access another organisation's data.
Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change features as the product develops. If we remove a feature that is a significant part of what you pay for, we will give you reasonable notice, and you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of any fees you have paid for the period after the change. We recommend keeping your own copies of records you are legally required to keep.
Liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes them. Where the law allows us to limit our liability for a failure to meet a guarantee, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows:
- neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, arising from these terms or the Service; and
- our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, or to loss caused by fraud or wilful misconduct.
Suspension and termination
- You can stop using the Service, cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account if it seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, if fees remain unpaid after we've reminded you, or where we need to in order to prevent harm to others or comply with the law. Unless it's urgent, we will tell you first and give you a reasonable chance to fix the problem.
- We may also stop providing the Service to you for any other reason by giving at least 30 days' notice, in which case we will refund any fees paid for the period after it ends.
- After an account ends, your organisation's data is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (such as ownership of content, liability and governing law) survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. We will post updates here, and give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email before a change that is materially adverse to you takes effect. If you don't agree with the change, you can cancel before it takes effect and we will refund any fees you've paid for the period after that date.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and each of us submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the courts of the Commonwealth of Australia that hear matters from Queensland.
